Industry Laments sad loss of Mike Downing

Mike Downing We are saddened to report the passing of Mike Downing (pictured, left) on Boxing Day 2009 at the age of just 65. Mike will be remembered by his colleagues and by competitors of Trent Concrete alike for his enthusiasm for architectural cladding, structural precast and good engineering and architecture, and for his willingness to represent the industry externally as a true ambassador.

Mike was a long-standing Chairman of the Structural Precast Association as well as the Architectural Cladding Association and a staunch member of the British Precast Council. Mike’s contribution to the industry lives on within the ethos of Trent Concrete. He was one of very few recipients of the British Precast Lifetime Contribution Award.

Mike will be remembered by all with respect and affection.
